A Tribute on Father's Day

6/21/2015

I am lucky to have a dad and two grandfathers in my life.
I read that one out of every three children in the whole grow up without a father, I could have been one of them. I know how lucky I am and I wanted to wish my Dad, Grandpa and Pa a happy fathers day today.

Whether it is your biological dad, adopted dad, grandfather, uncle or another important man who has been your father figure, I wanted to make note of their importance.  Happy Father's day to all the men out there who have shared their love and life.

My Grandfather Turns 93!!!!

Visited Capitola after driving along the coast.  We had lunch at Half Moon Bay Joe's and then stopped at Santa Cruz.  Watched some surfers near the surfing museum.  The weather was warm.  We continued to Capitola where we walked around, then sat and watched young singers perform on the beach (a school that had 13 year old girls singing Karaoke).  For dinner we ate at the Paradise Beach Grille....always a great meal....and we shared the Breadalon (Grandpa's favorite...french bread with oil, garlic, onions and melted cheese baked in).  We drove back home on Highway 1 and witnessed a bright, beautiful sunset.  We all had a great time celebrating Grandpa's 93rd birthday.  Grandpa had a good day.

"Racing Extinction"

I had the honor to see "Racing Extinction" at the Roxie in SF this past Wednesday June 3rd and meet Academy Award winning director Louie Psihoyos.  (documentary "The Cove").   He and his filmmakers join forces with activists, scientist, nature photographers and cutting edge inventors to bring this story to you.  Some of the Racing Extinction team were at this screening.  What an inspirational film and call to help stop us from the sixth extinction our planet has seen.
I have attached a link to the the trailer for the new documentary "Racing Extinction" below:

While you wait for this documentary to be release, if you have not had the opportunity to see "The Cove", here is the trailer for this documentary:
This is a GREAT Documentary and a must see.  It is a covert operation to see what was happening to the dolphins in a cove in Japan.  I saw this film in the theatre when it first came out and remember cheering when it won the Academy Award for best documentary.   You will not be disappointed.

Let me say also that I had the pleasure and honor to meet and speak with Louie Psihoyos.  He is one of the most down to earth, humble men I have ever met.
Documentaries are made so that the viewer can bear witness to what is happening in our world.  Documentaries can bring about change.  I would love to work with a team like this.
Please share this with your friends and family.
Thanks.
Sincerely,
Alex King

I cannot believe it is already June, boy time flies.  I spent some time yesterday at Moss Beach.  It was a beautiful day.  Took a trail to Seal Cove too and saw this great piece of driftwood.  I had a great time.

My name is Alex and I am a enthusiastic independent filmmaker. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I use multiple cameras, from professional full size camera, to DSLR's  to capture the moments in life that are meant to be saved as a piece of art.  As a college student I entered the Multimedia and Broadcast field. I enjoyed all elements of my education. I focused on documentary work and profiles. I enjoy lighting, filming and editing my work.
I also have a love of photography.  I would be happy to work with you to create art on film or photo.  I will also like to say thank you very much for visiting my website.  Please share it with your friends.
